In the first round of the 2025 Australian Open women's singles, 5th seed Zheng Qinwen defeated Italian qualifier Anca Totoni 7-6(3), 6-1, advancing to the second round with a 2-0 scoreline. She will next face the winner between Laura Siegemund and Destiny Ayanna Baptiste. This marks her fourth consecutive year reaching the second round of the Australian Open.
